Course Introduction: Infection Control & Personal Care Assistance

Welcome to the Infection Control & Personal Care Assistance course! This program is designed to review essential skills in maintaining hygiene, preventing infections, and providing quality personal care to individuals in need.

Through this 3 hour in-service course, you will gain knowledge in key areas such as:

✔ Infection Control Measures – Understanding pathogens, proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and sanitation practices.

✔ Personal Care Assistance – Techniques for safe and dignified bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

✔ Client Safety & Comfort – Best practices for maintaining comfort, respecting privacy, and ensuring a safe caregiving environment.

By the end of the course, you will be prepared to confidently assist individuals while adhering to hygiene protocols and promoting their overall well-being. This course provides the foundational knowledge needed for effective and compassionate care and fulfills part of the 12 hour New York State Department of Health mandated requirement for Home Health Aides.
